My research at the Textile Research and Innovation Centre is primarily focussed on plasma treatment for functionalization of fibre assemblies. We have constructed a prototype plasma panel and made some modifications to the setup which we are using for test purposes. Some of my research on plasma can be downloaded below.

In addition to plasma another area of interest of mine is Electrospinning. The technique can be used to make non-woven nanofibre based fabric which can be used for a variety of applications. My students are currently pursuing one undergraduate project in this area and I intend to introduce at least two more in the upcoming semester.
I am also working on the development of projects related to technical textiles as part of the research centre’s industry affiliation projects. This is another area where I intend to initiate some undergraduate market research projects.
My undergraduate students are also working on an initial study towards the development of standard size charts for the local region. The first of such an anthropometric study is being carried out at the Textile Institute of Pakistan to develop an internal size chart which we intend to expand on in times to come to initiate several large scale projects.
